What this module is about
When we set off on a journey, it helps to know where we are going!
When we set off on the road to AIDS Competence, it will help us to know what it will be like when we get there.
The Dream is our picture of what our community will be like when we have arrived at AIDS Competence. It is not a world where everything is perfect. It is a world where our community is confident that it can deal with all of the challenges that HIV/AIDS presents to our community.
This module is about 'Building the Dream'.
How this module fits into the rest of the programme
In the second module of the Blended Learning Programme, we discussed our 'Ways of Working' and our 'Ways of Thinking'.
In this module, we look at the first step in the AIDS Competence Process, Building the Dream. Here the community builds its description of where it wants to be. It will be a world that is much better than where the community is today, but it also be a dream that can be achieved. In the next module, we will be using the Self Assessment framework to look at the hard reality of where the community is today.

- You will understand how to help a community to Build its Dream
- You will understand why Building the Dream is the starting point in the AIDS Competence process.
