Module 5: Action planning and Self Measurement of change
An Introduction to Module 5 from Farellia
How this module fits into the programme

We have decided where we want to be (Module 3). We know where we are (Module 4). And we know where we would like to be in 3(?) months (Module 4). But before we start to DO things, we need to step back and take a little bit of time to think and to plan.
This planning step is about 2 things.
The first is about the actions that we are going to take. So what are we going to do? Who is going to do it? When are we going to do it? What resources do we need to do it?
The second thing to think about now is perhaps a little less obvious. How will we know that we have been successful in what we are planning to do? What changes do we expect to find? How are we going to demonstrate to ourselves that we have been successful?
And when we have done these things we will be ready to start to take action. Just do it!
The objectives of this module
At the end of this module, we hope that:
- You understand the action planning process and can facilitate a community to develop its Action Plan
- You understand why a community needs to measure its progress
- You understand how a community measures its progress and you can facilitate a community to develop its own programme to measure change.
Our thanks to the Genoka Settlement in Papua New Guinea
...for allowing us to continue to use their example of Action Planning and Self Measurement of Change for the rest of this Module. Our thanks also to the coaches in Papua New Guinea for their help in developing this content.
